Researchers and pre-doctoral researchers of the Catalan knowledge system can now opt for the grants of the Industrial Doctorate Plan promoted by the Department of Research and Universities and which, in this 2024 call, allocates nearly 6 million euros (5,782,800 euros) and maintains the increase of 27% in the direct aid received by doctoral students. The Industrial Doctorate Plan offers researchers and pre-doctoral researchers the possibility to do research training in a company or institution, in collaboration with a university or research center, where they develop a project that will end up being the subject of the doctoral thesis .
The objectives of this call are, among other things, to increase the international visibility of the program and, for this reason, the financial incentive is maintained for the beneficiary entities that promote the obtaining of the international mention of the doctoral theses. This year, they also want to promote projects in the field of social sciences, arts and humanities, as well as encourage the realization of projects by departments and entities in the public sector. In addition, the aim is to increase the participation of companies and institutions, in addition to establishing links with business organizations to foster strategic alliances, strengthening the innovation ecosystem and Catalan industrial research.
The general deadline for applying for a 2024 Industrial Doctorate grant will be open until December 10 and the application must be made from the Virtual Office of Procedures . During the year, there are different partial application deadlines, the first of which will end on April 16 and will be resolved in the first half of June. The following deadlines for submitting applications are set in June, October and December.
