We want to contribute to the constant improvement of the productive fabric, and that it helps to finance the University through the preparation of professionals with very high scientific training".

For his part, Xavier Ros highlighted "Innovation and research is essential for seat's future. From the company we are committed to attracting and retaining talent and this new link with UPF is another step forward to offer young scientists the opportunity to research in our company".

Specific agreements to specify each of the industrial doctorates

The research and industrial doctorate projects resulting from this collaboration will be formalized individually through specific agreements between both entities, in which aspects such as the selection process of the candidate, the directors, financing and duration of the project, the type of contract of the doctoral student and the tasks that will be done, among others, will be specified.

SEAT, which aims to develop lines of research related to the automotive industry, will hire PhD students from the University, who will be jointly selected between the multinational and the thesis supervisor.

UPF students, through the automotive company, will have the opportunity to participate in astrategic R&D&I project, which will generate a high added value to their curriculum. Likewise, within this framework, the student will be able to carry out their research training, in collaboration with the University, a task that will materialize in the elaboration of a doctoral thesis.
