Project Overview: This PhD project offers an exciting opportunity to be part of groundbreaking research in the field of multi-functional coatings for radiative cooling, with a strong focus on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. The project is conducted within the framework of prestigious European research initiatives, including the Pathfinder ADAPTATION and PaRaMetriC projects.

Tasks:
1. Characterization of Radiative Cooling Materials: Investigate and characterize compounds and materials with a focus on their applications in photovoltaic energy generation and sub-ambient/above-ambient radiative cooling.
2. Development of Standardized Performance Metrics: Develop standardized performance indicators and testing protocols for the comparative evaluation of radiative cooling technologies.
3. Field Testing for Reproducible Results: Conduct field tests to quantify the performance of radiative cooling materials, ensuring reproducibility and establishing standardized metrics for the assessment of radiative cooling technologies.
4. Design and Development of Radiative Cooling Materials and Technology: Engage in the design and development of passive radiative cooling materials and technology integrated into cooling panels and characterize their thermal performance.

Responsibilities:
As a PhD candidate in this project, you will take on several key responsibilities:
• Thermal Performance Modeling: Utilize numerical modeling techniques to predict the thermal performance of multi-functional coatings.
• Characterization and Field Testing: Conduct experiments to characterize the thermal performance of these coatings in relevant environments, with a strong focus on radiative cooling phenomena.
• Problem Solving: Address engineering challenges in the realm of thermal energy, employing both numerical simulations and experimental methods.
• Thermal System Design: Participate in the design of thermal systems, including heaters and coolers, and engage in field test activities.
• Performance Evaluation: Contribute to the evaluation of thermal performance through outdoor field tests for pilot projects, measuring parameters such as electric performance of solar cells and cooling efficiency.
• Experimental Setup: Play a crucial role in conceiving, designing, and setting up thermal experiments.
• Project Oversight: Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to best project management practices and methodologies.
