If you have a passion for cars and if you like to work in a dynamic, young and international atmosphere – SEAT is the place to be. We offer a 3-year Doctor Program (PhD) to professionals with training in Software development engineering and a fluent level of English for the development of a project within the R & D department at the SEAT Technical Center jointly with the UAB of Barcelona and VW Research Center.
From the CVC/UAB side, the student would be part of a group, from where recent well-known projects such as SYNTHIA (www.synthia-dataset.net) and CARLA (carla.org) were born.
WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT?
This project is about the development of the autonomous car that will revolutionize the industry. This innovation will give mobility a completely new direction and thus changes the view of today’s technologies. The radical change to come requires a big deal of readiness and specific adaptation.
To ensure an excellent development process, relevant technologies related to the autonomous car need to be identified. For the new mobility concept it is important to determine the necessary know-how and competences, as well as special tools, methodology and facilities to their proper integration and validation on vehicle.
The objective of this project is to determine the state of the art of the autonomous car related to technologies and to concrete the necessary facilities and instrumentation for the implementation and validation of Level 4.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
– Analysis of autonomous driving technologies.
– Analysis of integration process in vehicle.
– Study of different validation methods and instrumentation.
– Elaboration of a technical specifications dossier for the implementation and validation.
