Descripció del projecte

The main objective of the Project is demonstrating the capturing CO2 and its subsequent transformation into hydrocarbons using an innovative disruptive process technology and showing that it is both efficient and profitable. This pilot plant will have an actual capacity to capture 800 tons of carbon dioxide per year, which equals to a 1,78% of the greenhouse gas emissions released from CELSA’s curing plant in Castellbisbal, Spain. The plant will confirm the process parameters, variables and performance data required to build a semi-industrial plant after the project completion with a processing capacity of 45,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. Part of the project activities will be carried out at the Institut Català d’Investigació Química (ICIQ), in the research group of Prof. José Ramón Galán-Mascarós.
