Industrial PhD student Mohamed Amazian will be the UB's representative in the FCRi's Thesis in 4 Minutes competition

Mohamed Amazian El Moussaoui, PhD student in Engineering and Applied Sciences, will represent the University of Barcelona in the Thesis in 4 Minutes competition of the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation. He was chosen among other researchers on April 26, and Saba Mohamed Bibi, from the PhD program in Food and Nutrition, was a finalist.

Mohamed Amazian El Moussaoui is carrying out an industrial doctorate and claims to be particularly satisfied that, as a researcher, he has "a tangible goal, with a real and immediate application". "The company Plating Decor was anxious to investigate its industrial process", he explains. Specifically, this PhD student is contributing to improving the way to carry out gold coatings: "Currently we have some formulations to make very specific and unstable gold coatings with the passage of electricity; based on the research, we can manage to extend the useful life of the coatings and make them more versatile».
