Industrial PhD student Mohamed Amazian will be the UB's representative in the FCRi's Thesis in 4 Minutes competition

Mohamed Amazian El Moussaoui, PhD student in Engineering and Applied Sciences, will represent the University of Barcelona in the 4 Minute Thesis competition of the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation. He was chosen among other researchers on April 26, and Saba Mohamed Bibi, from the PhD program in Food and Nutrition, was a finalist.

Mohamed Amazian El Moussaoui is doing an industrial doctorate and says he is particularly pleased to have, as a researcher, "a tangible objective, with a real and immediate application". "The Plating Decor company was anxious to investigate its industrial process", he explains. Specifically, this doctoral student is helping to improve the way gold coatings are carried out: "We currently have very specific and unstable formulations for making gold coatings with the passage of electricity; based on the research, we can extend the useful life of the coatings and make them more versatile".
