Project description
This Industrial Doctorate (ID) proposal is linked to the research project "Clim Empower" funded with European funds from the Horizon Europe 2020 program.
The aim of the project is to help regions address climate change resilience in 5 vulnerable Mediterranean regions by creating climate tools for decision support as well as training materials.
The specific line of research proposed for the doctoral student focuses on the development of methodologies, numerical models and action plans to face the risks of climate hazards in the Spanish case study, which includes the West Costa del Sol. Specifically, the combined 1D/2D models of rain and sea floods will be studied in depth.
The proposed ID is proposed as a Doctorate in Civil Engineering that will be carried out within the doctoral program of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the School of Civil Engineering of Barcelona of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC).
