Description of the project

In order to fulfill the goal of increasing the development stage of nanoformulation technology of NANOMOL TECHNOLOGIES, the research project offered by the PhD student will be based on different R&D activities:

– Develop new formulations of Quatsuvs nanovesicles.
New formulations of the Quatsuvs platform will be designed, prepared and characterized that can present appropriate physico-chemical properties with high homogeneity, stability and control within the nanoscopic range, which contribute to obtaining pharmacological properties of great interest in increasing therapeutic efficacy .

– Develop nanoconjugates of biomolecules based on the Quatsuvs platform.
The integration of active principles in the nanovesicles developed in the previous point will be studied for the topical treatment of dermatological diseases. To carry out this stage, the feasibility of the functionalization of Quatsuvs will be explored and the main characteristics of the new nanoconjugates will be defined.

– Evaluation of the new formulations of Quatsuvs for their use in applications in the dermopharmaceutical sector.
At this stage, percutaneous absorption studies of the Quatsuvs systems will be carried out, studies of the most suitable pharmaceutical form that maintains the integrity of the Quatsuvs systems and finally stability studies of the most promising formulation since stability is one of the parameters critics of the pharmaceutical development process.

– Evaluation of the antibiotic and antifungal function of Quatsuvs and the study of their possible clinical uses.
Thanks to previous research, Quatsuvs have indicated an adequate capacity for the treatment of Staphylococcus aureus biofilms, which may allow the development of a new nanomedicine based on Quatsuvs for the elimination of these bacteria that cause dermatological diseases. For this reason, the objective of this stage will be to study the antibiotic and antifungal function through the preparation of formulations of Quatsuvs with antibacterial activity, assess their effect, activity and toxicity and carry out physicochemical studies.
