Participation requirements

All industrial doctorate projects must have at least representation from the academic and business spheres.

Academic sphere

Research organisations, specifically public and private universities in the Catalan university system, and research centres and hospital foundations with headquarters in Catalonia are eligible for the funding offered in the Industrial Doctorates Plan's call for applications.

When the applicants are research centres and hospital foundations, the collaboration agreement must also be signed by the university in the Catalan university system in which the candidate must enrol for thesis tutorship.

Business sphere

Companies are eligible for the funding offered in the Industrial Doctorates Plan’s call for applications as long as they are not research organisations and have a place of work in Catalonia:

       1. Co-funding type of financing (DI-COF)

         - Companies not included in the budgets of the Catalan Government, except for limited companies.

      2. Specific funding type of financing (DI-ESP)

        - Companies not included in the budgets of the Catalan Government, except for limited companies.

        - Non-profit foundations and associations.

        - Consortiums in which the government has a majority share.

        - Centres of the TECNIO network with their own legal status.

        - Other cases of special interest, that, duly justified, can be considered by the selection committee.
