The procedure to participate in the Industrial Doctorates Plan is simple and fast, without excessive amounts of paperwork to be submitted. The steps that companies and candidates must follow are those given below.



The university, the research centre and, if necessary, the company must fill in the form.

A digital copy of the completed form should be sent via e-mail to, and the original signed by all the parties to the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR): Passeig Lluís Companys, 23, 08010 Barcelona (RE: Industrial Doctorate Project).



The Government of Catalonia will publish the industrial doctorate project on the website so that those potential candidates interested can submit their candidacy, fi lling in the corresponding section of the form.

The parties to the collaboration agreement will have to assess all candidates that have submitted their application up to the date notifying of the end of the public announcement period on the Plan's website, which should be communicated in writing to However, the industrial doctorate project must be published on the website during a period of no less than 5 working days.

During the public announcement period, each week the Government of Catalonia will send the thesis director and the project manager appointed by the company the list of applications submitted for their assessment. Once notification of the close of the submission period has been received, the Government of Catalonia will provide the university and the company the defi nitive list of candidates having submitted applications for the corresponding industrial doctorate project.

The committee comprised of the signatories of the collaboration agreement will select the candidate that meets the following requirements:

a) Fulfilment of the specific requirements of the industrial doctorate project established on the corresponding form.

b) Admission to the corresponding doctoral programme at the university, in accordance with current legislation.

c) An average mark of 6.5 or higher (scale 1 to 10) on his or her academic transcript, calculated based on all credits of university studies that allow admission to a doctoral programme.

In selecting candidates, the techniques which the committee considers most suitable for that purpose may be used (CV assessment, exams, interviews, etc.).

Should the committee fi nd that the no candidate meets the requirements previously established, it may request that the industrial doctorate project once again be published on the website.

Once the selection has been made, the committee must draw up a selection report according to the standardised model provided, with the following content:

a. Selection criteria and weight assigned to each one.

b. Name, tax ID No. (NIF), post and signature of the members of the selection committee.

c. Prioritised list of candidates, indicating the candidate selected and the individual score of all candidates based on the previously defi ned requirements.

d. Certification that the candidate selected has the required average mark on the academic transcript.



During the period established in the AGAUR's call for industrial doctorate applications, and in accordance with the procedure established in the corresponding rules, the university, the research centre or the company may present the grant application, through the Virtual Citizen Care Office (OVT), with the following required documentation:

1. Standardised form, with the basic details of the project, company, university, doctoral programme, research group and doctorand.

2. Scanned copy of the collaboration agreement.

3. Scanned copy of the selection report.

4. Scanned copy of the doctorand's academic transcript of university studies that allow admission to a doctoral programme.

5. Scanned copy of the admission letter for the corresponding doctoral programme.
