The sustainable competitive advantage of companies and organisations in the knowledge economy and in a global and interconnected world is founded on two basic principles: human capital and the ability to innovate and continuously improve products, services and processes.
Catalonia currently has a first-rate university system in the field of science and technology that, over the course of the last decade, has managed to bring about innovation and make discoveries that have had a worldwide impact and to train people who are at the cutting edge of knowledge and who have top-notch equipment and facilities at their disposal. Transferring this technology and knowledge will be the challenge for the coming decade and a key part of the economic and social development of Catalonia.
The Industrial Doctorates Plan is a Government of Catalonia initiative, in collaboration with public and private universities, that aims to contribute to the competitiveness and internationalisation of the Catalan industrial fabric, retain talent and place doctoral students in companies where they can develop R&D&I projects.
